Another fun read from Deanna Raybourn! I’m loving this series so much, and I think each book gets better the longer we’re with these characters and the more we know about them. I especially appreciated the introduction to some characters from Stoker’s past. I love peeling back the layers of his past with each book.

I think Raybourn is a brilliant mystery writer. She gives you just enough to feel like you’ve solved it, but then always gives a clever little twist to shake things up. It’s always fun to see how Veronica and Stoker have deduced what’s really going on.

I’m reading this series slowly, compared to my usual series standards, and really just savoring each one. If you’re looking for a clever mystery with a hint of romance, this could be a perfect fit for you.
